We went to IKEA (with about 1,000 other Kansascitians...) and then to see The Princess Bride at a local old theater. We ended the night with Keira Knightly's P&P. (KC picked again, such a keeper!) It was a really fun day! :) We also made each other some fun Valentine's/Gifts. But I'll have to share all of that later this week.
This week's linkup with The Creative Closet has the theme polka dots. Upon seeing this I opened my closet to see a sad lack of polka dots. I think I must have some hiding in tubs of clothes somewhere... it is beyond time to clean out all of the stuff I have packed up!
What I did find were a few polka dotted scarves, so I went with that. :)
I also shared this look on Instagram for a fun challenge called #StyleMeFeb with @hilaryrushford , it really has me stretching my wardrobe! :)

Luckily, I went to the thrift store over the weekend, for the first time in months, and I found two cute polka dotted blouses ($4 & $2), so the polka dot void has been filled!
What type of holes do you have in your wardrobe?
XO,
Alexandra
Cute! One of the hazards of being so tall is that I can't seem to ever find LONG sweaters or tunics. Everything falls to my hips but no further, so when I try to wear long tops and leggings, my booty is pretty much just so... out there. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Hilary's #styleme challenge! It's actually what inspired me to start The Creative Closet! :) I love the neutrals in this outfit and that small hint of polka dots is just perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that polka dot scarf and I can't wait to see the polka dot tops you found. Yay for great thrift finds! My winter wardrobe is pretty set, but I'm already starting to think about the holes in my spring wardrobe... (sandals! florals! color!)
ReplyDeleteI went to Ikea for the first time yesterday, and boy was it overwhelming! Fun though, and not as busy as I thought it would be (maybe the snow yesterday morning kept people away?).
Yes, please! I'm so addicted to polka dots it's not even funny. Super cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteI obviously love the look with the blazer and side braid! A polka dot scarf is the perfect accessory to give it just a little bit something more with all your neutrals. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit Alexandra! Polka dots are my favorite. It sounds like you had a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteYou really are a fan of blazers! I love polka dot scarves! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I totally get how hard things like that can be. I struggle to find any top that is flattering. My sister can try on any cute shirt and it looks perfect, just like the picture... and I'm like trying to get the buttons to hold shut... lol. Have you tried VS Pink's V-necks? I remember them being of the longer variety in the past. :) Been out of the blog reading game for a bit, excited to catch up! XO
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun right???! That's so awesome. I am totally having a blast with The Creative Closet too! So glad you started it! :) Thank you so much! XO
ReplyDeleteThank you Shea! I'm excited about the tops too! :) That's so great that you are thinking ahead to spring. I'm not there yet.. .but I'm starting! :) IKEA is crazy, and also (if you are me) beautiful. :) haha Yes I bet snow did deter people. Been out of the blog reading game for a bit, excited to play catch up soon! :) XO
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sydni! I love how simple these scarves are but they give a pop of print and metallic. XO
ReplyDeleteHehe thank you Maegan! It was a fun one to wear. XO
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren. It was a great time. Hope you are having a lovely February! XO
ReplyDeleteThey are my #1 used piece in my closet. With curves you've got to have structured pieces like that! :) Thank you! XO
