Have You Heard? // Throwback // *Spook Halloween Playlist

It's almost Halloween!! :)

One of my favorite things to do this time of year is dress up and throw a really festive party... seriously, there's proof ... 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, (apparently nothing happened in) 2011, & 2010.

I made this playlist two years ago, it's actually how Kristen and I met (sorta), and KC and I are still using it. If you're looking for some fun music for a Halloween party or just to get festive at your desk... check out the playlist (link to spotify included) here.

Simply Autumn Vol. I // A Cozy Playlist

I hope that fall is still treating you all well.

I have posted before about how fall is fun, but just not my favorite season overall. Well, this year it really really has me under it's spell. The weather has been nice, the trees have been pretty, we've done some fall baking and cooking... we're planning gatherings with good friends... it's all good.

Here is a playlist that I made for work, but has proved to be the perfect soundtrack to a relaxed weekend at home as well. It's mellow, and moody, lots of pretty vocals and dreamy lyrics. It includes a few songs from James Bay, a few from Vance Joy, Bastille, The Vines... just take a listen. I hope it lifts your spirits as you stare outside at the pretty trees. :)

Can't you just imagine yourself decked out in a cozy layered outfit, sipping on your fall drink of choice, crunching leaves under your feet?

Simply Summer Mix Vol. II

Ah, summer. Road trips, lemonade, stormy skies, and fireworks. S'mores and Sandals, lots of time by the water....

One of my favorite things to do with KC in the summer is take drives at night. I like to turn the music up, put the windows down, with my feet on the dash. Soaking up the summer night air.

Last year I posted this summer mix, and I still love it. So much so, that it expanded to make a volume II.

This mix is pretty eclectic and fueled by catchy indie pop. It has some broods, a little Vance Joy, glass animals... It's got a bohemian feel, like summer does, and it's perfect for a day at your desk when you really want to be outside. Or maybe a night drive of your own. :)

*spook // a halloween playlist

KC and I held a little Black & White Halloween shindig at our place over the weekend, and for weeks I have been trying to create the perfect playlist... there isn't a lot of Halloween music in the world! I ended up using Spotify at work to help me craft a soundtrack for our party with a lovely blend of moody alternative music (with spooky sounding song titles) and upbeat vintage Halloween tracks from the 1930's & 1940's. Overall it is a pretty fun selection and definitely worked well for our party! - I hope this inspires a fun and festive Halloween for you!

Simply Summer Mix

There are still nineteen days left of summer.

Throughout the summer I've been crafting this little mix on Spotify, and I wanted to share it with you all. Listen to it here.

Travel Mix Vol. II

Maybe you have read my Travel Mix Vol. I post.

I love to travel. Since Kyle and I are on a budget we don't get to as much as we would like. So I spend a lot of time dreaming about travel, planning out potential trips, and watching movies, reading books and listening to music that keep my wonderlust under control.

Anyhow, I like to travel and I love music! We take lots of road trips and make fun playlists to sing to as we drive. When my friends go on trips I like to burn them copies of my first volume.

Since one of my dearest and oldest friends is heading back to Africa to see her boyfriend, {and has received my mix before} I decided to make a second volume. Aren't they cute!?

Anyhow, this volume is a little more lovey dovey. Lots of songs about getting to the person you love. But as always it's very eclectic and fun. It includes alternative music, quirky pop, guilty pleasures and of course some Celtic Woman. I hope that you like it.

Travel Mix Volume I

If you are anything like me ...

And sometimes when you can't travel, or your friends are traveling and you are just waiting for your turn... Or, you finally get to take a trip, you need some inspiring travel music. 

So I have created what is {for now} the "perfect" travel mix. Its eclectic to say the least, filled with genres ranging from alternative to catchy classics, with some splashes of dreamy favorites and Celtic Woman.
