Such a great trip, such a great city, so here are some more photos from our January 2015 trip!
Breakfast: Petite Amelie Cuisine Rapide (sans banana nut muffin I came in hoping for... : / )
Lunch: Port of Call, a trek to get there, but it's tasty and legit. 100% a dive, small menu, apparently decent prices for burgers and steak (when you don't live in the heartland... ) Fun.
Out & About: A lot of walking. From the Quarter to Port of Call, Port of Call to the Mighty Mississippi, and downtown. LOTS of walking.
Weather: Gorgeous all day!
Lots of: Laughs.
Tried: Pinkberry.
Dinner: Riganelli's Pizzeria. I think it was over-hyped when I read about it. We walked a long way to get there, and it was just alright. Not bad, but not worth the walk.
Surprise: Got caught in a rainstorm!
Love of the day: Jackson Square still decked out from Christmas.
Wearing: Skinnies + Black Tee + Teeny Red Crossbody. Flats + Golden Bees on my ears, Vintage Silk Scarf to keep the frizz at bay (hah!) ;) & Sparkly pants in the evening, sadly not pictured.
Tried Very Hard To: have cake at the end of the night... : /
See Day 1 , Day 3 Part 1, and Day 3 Part 2. See our first trip to New Orleans here.
Do you tend to walk a lot on your travels?! How do you keep from wearing down?!
All for now,
Alexandra
I love your gorgeous photos and how you wrote all the highlights/lowlights of your trip at the end. That does sound like a lot of walking! I feel like comfy shoes and water are what save me on trips like that...and food, lots of good food! :) I want to visit New Orleans now!
ReplyDeleteFun!! I've always wanted to go to New Orleans and based on your photos, the food looks amazing

i love walking on our travels, but i haven't worked out how to not get worn out! lol. definitely wear comfy shoes, even if your shoes don't hurt, real comfy shoes make the world of difference. sucks that the dinner place wasn't worth it, but the lunch place sounds good - i'll have to keep it in mind if we ever go back!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea. I always feel obligated to write down every detail... which is often why it takes me so long to get these darn posts up.... so I decided this format might work a little better. :) Hehe we certainly had plenty of water and good food! :) I hope you get to visit NOLA someday soon. :) XO
ReplyDeleteIt's such a lively and fun travel destination! I highly recommend. I've loved it both times we've been. It's very walkable and versatile... I think it would be good for shorter or longer trips. I hope you get to go someday soon! :) XO
ReplyDeleteOh yay! So excited for you guys! I hope that you have a lovely time! XO
ReplyDeleteI know it's such a hard balance. I feel like I can only stop to have coffee and people watch so many times before I'm like... ugh I want to walk again! I'm not hungry or thirsty... why feet? why? Hhaha I'm excited to hear how your crocs work for you in Europe. :) It was certainly good in a retro dive-y kind of way. It's the kind of place I don't think we would have just heard about. :) I hope you get to go back someday soon. :) XO
ReplyDeleteOh no Gina! You just got back! :) hehe It was SO tasty! Very old fashioned, made me feel like I was eating at my grandma's favorite place... but a little grungy-er... does that make sense.. ? XO
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos, I´d like to visit New Orleans as it seems to be a really wonderful place!!! Food must have been absolutely delicious, photos don´t lie!!!

ReplyDeleteSo good, right?! I think no matter how much you drink, even if you don't drink, it's so dark in there!! Seriously we stumbled both in and out. haha Thanks!! :) XO
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the cat lounging in the window of the gallery is just adorable! Also, those burgers look utterly delicious and it certainly doesn't help that there's nothing good to eat in the house right now haha...

Hehe thank you so much. We are the happiest of travelers... trips feel like extended dates... and despite our 8 years together we are still so greedy with our time. :) Yes, the food, it's even making me hungry.. : / haha XO
ReplyDeleteSo fun! It seems like it would be a great place to celebrate something like the end of finals. What a magical place to go to college. :) :) XO
