Georgia PL Pages // 6X8 Travel Mini Album

I learned about PL in the last few years, it's a fun style of scrapbooking that has divided pockets and page protectors. You can buy kits to fit in the pockets (usually 4 X 6 and 3 X 4 cards and matching stickers, etc.) and it kind of gives you some limitations and different formats on how you can scrapbook. I really like it, but I am enjoying this approach a little more than the few times I have played with the kits. It's easy but it still lets me be creative. A win win in my book! :)

I started this back in July and I've been having so much fun with it! I shared my first two PL videos last month, they showed my Houston & Galveston pages, and my San Francisco Pages, check those out. To learn about the process, supplies, etc. for my first two sections, you can watch my videos. :)

What do you guys think?

Have you done any scrapbooking or project life albums?

Have you been to Georgia?

Do you have any creative goals for 2017?

I would love to hear about it!

Alexandra

Snapshots of Jekyll Island, GA // June 2016

I know it is officially fall (HOORAY!) but I'm here to share the last of our summer trip to Georgia. If you've been reading along you'll know that we spent some time in Savannah, on Tybee Island, and then also Jekyll Island.

Jekyll is located on a protected part of the coast, so it has a decidedly wild, laid back, and natural feel to it. I spent most of our time there at my conference, but we did make sure to catch some afternoon/evening beach time, and do a little bit of touring and eating while we were there.

Eat: There are a decent number of places to eat on the island... but most of them are not particularly special. One place that we enjoyed quite a bit was called Driftwood Bistro. Everything that we tried was really good, and the people who worked there were super nice. :)

See: The beaches (driftwood beach too!), the river, the nature everywhere! The old buildings by the river.

Shop: Because it's so small and based around the nature preserves there is not a ton of shopping to do on Jekyll. We visited a bookstore that was a little bit pricey and several of the shops near the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for souvenirs. On the newer side of the island there is a market/grocery store - which has lots of little stalls and gift type items in it. Overall not a shopping destination, but that's ok... especially if you've just left Savannah... :P

Do: Visit the beaches, rent bikes or kayaks and see the trails and waterways, play mini golf, visit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

- we loved the sea turtle center. You can go and learn about turtles and obstacles they are up against, you can see them recovering and sometimes even being operated on. It's got a lot of information and a lot of turtles. The gift shop is nice too. It would be a good place to take kids and learn about how to protect turtles and coastal environments. :)

Favorites: The beaches, the low country boil that we did via the conference, and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

New Experiences: Fried green tomatoes, low country boil, going to a conference for work, seeing crabs and marine birds feeding by the beach.

We were so glad to finally check Georgia off of my list. :)

Have you been somewhere scenic and undeveloped for vacation?

Do you love the beach? Or is it just land-locked me...?

Other Georgia Posts: Savannah and Tybee Island.

Happy Travels!

Back From Georgia // Humid as Haillll

Hello sweet blog friends! I hope that you have had a great week! We are home from Georgia and settling back in, just in time to head off to Nashville... ha

In the meantime, I thought I would share some photos and a quick recap of our time there.

We flew into Savannah and checked into our (first ever!) Airbnb. We spent several days exploring the city. We tried delicious food, visited some really lovely art museums, did a ghost tour, and even saw a few movies! I might also mention... that the shopping was awesome... too awesome... and I spent a chunk of change there.. : /

We also took some time to visit Tybee Island, which is just 20-30 minutes from the city depending on where you are staying. We swam in the ocean, visited shops, and toured the lighthouse and grounds. We even got caught in a tropical storm... which was briefly terrifying, but exhilarating as well. :)

The last piece of the trip was on Jekyll Island, where my conference was held. While we were there we stayed in another Airbnb (which we loved!) and took some time to see the beaches there, play mini golf, and visit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

Overall, it was very very hot and humid (as expected), but a well rounded trip of work and play, as well as lots of different things to do!

I am still recapping Houston posts, and have San Francisco to follow, but I can't wait to share the details with you guys!

What have you guys been up to?!

Has anyone else been to Savannah?
