Feminine Meets Tough & Winter Meets Spring

Taking a mini break from the New Orleans posts for now... (see them by clicking on the 'Passport' tab above) to share an outfit that I want to get out here before spring is in full swing!

Seasonal transition time is so difficult to dress for. But it's wonderful when you end up with an outfit that works for either, or combines pieces from your winter and spring wardrobes. Like this one. :)

I found this chiffon maxi skirt at Francesca's back at the end of 2013, and didn't really know what I wanted to wear it with... turns out it is the perfect candidate for the 'feminine paired with tough' trend that I wanted to try in the fall (post here.)! And it also includes the 'dressed up sweatshirt' trend (same link) which I am a BIG fan of, and sport on a weekly basis between this one and my navy and cream metallic flecked sweatshirts! (here & here).

I paired it with my studded black sweater and some cream suede heels... and I think it contrasts perfectly, with so little effort. & since Kansas is still cold... I can continue wearing it for at least a few more weeks! :)

Black Studded Sweater: TJ Maxx, $25.
Cream Chiffon Maxi Skirt: Francesca's, $38
Cream Suede Heels: Target, $20.

Outfit Total: $83

I love this skirt so so much. It's so flowy and feminine. It is going to be worn a lot this spring and summer I can already tell! It is the perfect transition piece! :)

But while it's still cold...  I can keep wearing it like this.. and it's easy as pie. (though not this pie... )

I am linking up again with Greater Than Rubies for spring transition pieces. Join in here!

What are some of your favorite winter to spring transition pieces?
