Meet Scalawag // Black & White Beauty

Today The Creative Closet is linking up 'Black & White Beauty' looks. So I thought, what better time to introduce our new, black and white kitten, Scalawag?! Well, briefly before the outfit post anyhow. :)




He is 6 months old, has a sweet little wink, and a big, cuddly personality. We adopted him a little over a week ago, and he is adjusting to our apartment (read: Duchess) pretty well. :)

They cuddle a little, and play pretty rough. But it's sweet, and I think she will be very glad she has a friend someday soon! :) - I could say more, and I probably will later.... but for now.....

....on to the fashion part! :) 

Since I'm introducing Scali... why not keep it cat themed? I thought I would use these old pictures from my very first fashion post, 'Black Cat'.

I love this look. It's really simple and clean. The leather tights, black and white oxfords, and printed scarf keep it from being too basic though!

We are heading to Nashville soon, and are super excited! :)

    Aww, Scalawag is adorable, he reminds me of my Pippin cat when she was younger! So sweet. Tips on cats playing together - is there something your other cat really loves? With our cats, our first cat loved this rope that we had, she'd chase it and drag it around. So when we got our second cat we used the rope a bunch to get them to play and interact together and it worked pretty well. Good luck!

    Thank you Beth! That's so sweet. I appreciate your tips too! She loves a feather toy. We have tried using it with both of them. It seems that the new kitty goes all out, and it deters our older cat from hunting (she likes to stalk it first).... so it's not working the best right now. They also won't both chase balls at the same time. Ha they are pretty civil, and enjoy wrestling together. It's just been difficult to PLAY with both of them... a work in progress. Maybe we will give their string a try. :) XO

    That is the cutest name and the cutest little kitty! We have two cats too, and they fought for about two weeks straight but now they are buddies (almost). Love the outfit!

    wow, only a week and they already cuddle? so sweet. my first two dealt better than bringing the 3rd in - jeepers that was hard. if you don't need to, you don't need to but we really needed to separate them at first so my older cats could still feel like it was their house and a kitten wasn't taking over everything. then i would feed them all tuna including the kitten, but really close to each other, so they would choose the food over being mad about the kitten - if that makes sense? and I second Beth - stick to ropes and stuff that you can hold, balls and whatnot aren't the best to get them accustomed to each other because you throw it, they either both ignore or both go for it, then start swatting at each other lol.

    Thanks Gina! We couldn't think of a better pirate name for a one-eyed cat. :) He's such a sweetie. They are starting to bond a lot more! They cuddle and groom one another now. Our first cat still isn't quite back to her old self but I think in a week or two they will be more comfortable for sure! Thank you!! XO

    We were having such a hard time with the feather toys. The kitten would chase and chase and our older cat loves to stalk and stalk... basically she just gave up. Now they seem to be a little better at taking turns. They're getting there. I feel bad though she doesn't want to eat her food, so she's eating a lot less than she was. She does eat though... so I'm not too worried yet. :) Thanks for the tips and perspective. XO -Alexandra
