Oscars Dresses 2019 // Red Carpet Love

Ahhh another year, another Oscars. :) I loved, loved, loved so many things about this year's awards.

1) So much diversity in the nominations and winners!
2) A man from my city, and university won an oscar!!!!
3) Kacey Musgraves
4) Youthful fashion

Here are my favorites! It's no surprise that I'm loving the feminine and flowy dresses most. That's my jam. Somewhat surprisingly there was A LOT of pink. Very bright, very pastel, very voluminous, and so so fun and youthful. Not normally my thing, but I thought it was lovely! Also, can we talk about all of the velvet tuxedos...?!

Here we go!

The Gowns:

Amandla Stenberg - so stunning!
Constance Wu - yellow is always a favorite of mine!

Elaine Welteroth - wowww!

Gemma Chan - Can we please talk about how it has pockets and she put a COOKIE in the pocket?! #gemmachanismyhomegirl

Helen Mirren - so much fun! So youthful!

Jennifer Hudson - so sleek!

Jessica Oyelowo - all that glitters!

Kacey Musgraves - like cotton candy.

Leslie Bibb - elegant.

Linda Cardellini - so fun!

Lynette Howell Taylor - that lace!

Marie Kondo - sparks joy ;)

Marina de Tavira - my favorite this year!

Michelle Yeoh - like a painting.

Octavia Spencer - like the night sky.

On to the Tuxes:

Billy Porter - making a major statement. Fabulous.

Chris Evans - That BLUE!

David Oyelowo - green is such an under-loved color!
Stephen James and Shamier Anderson - those accessories!

Anyhow, yeah, lots of great fashion this year. I admittedly haven't seen a lot of the movies that were nominated... just Black Panther ... which is nothing new... I'm not super into "film". LOL But I do hope to see Green Book, BlaKkKlansman, The Favourite, and If Beale Street Could Talk eventually. :)

What did you guys think? Did you watch the Oscars?

Which dresses or movies were your favorites?

Oscars Dresses 2018 // Red Carpet Love

Happy Monday, Friends! I hope that you had a great weekend!

This week is KC's bday week, and we are hanging out with my sister Olivia while my parents have their last (I HOPE) divorce trial. I suppose it's a good thing our travel plans fell through. Hoping to make the most of it. Feeling a little sad that we weren't able to travel in Jan/Feb due to illness and now due to travel and family issues, but it will all be fine I'm sure. Hopefully we can make April super fun! :)

Onward! Let's talk about the pretty Oscars dresses! I didn't watch the coverage or the Oscars themselves, but I always love to see the dresses. To be honest, it's not the Oscars fault.. I just can't really watch anything for that long anymore. It doesn't hold my attention!

Most of the gowns that I loved this year were white or blush toned, and most were flowy. There's nothing unusual in that. What is a bit unusual though, is how many I loved. Last year there was such a smaller pool! :) (and there were so many more I wanted to add!) ... *all images via google*

Allison Janney - Congratulations on Your Oscar! :)

Zoey Deutch

Allison Williams

Elizabeth Moss

Emily Blunt

Gal Gadot

Gina Rodriguez - MY FAVORITE

Greta Gerwig - I LOVE YELLOW!

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Lawrence - she looks like a mermaid

Keala Settle

Samara Weaving

Pheobe Waller

Molly Simms

Marai Nagasu

Mira Sorvino
Margot Robbie

Leslie Mann

Leslie Bibb
Laura Dern

Kumail Nanjaini and Emily V. Gordon

What was your favorite dress?!

I also can't help but add Tom Holland, because he's so cute. Look at Spiderman all dapper! Again this was difficult, so many good suits.. I just should have posted like 80 photos.

Anyhow, yeah, lots of great fashion this year. I admittedly haven't seen a lot of the movies that were nominated. I do have The Big Sick and Coco on deck sometime this week. I would like to eventually see The Post, Lady Bird, and The Shape of Water. (at least). :)

What did you guys think? Did you watch the Oscars?

Oscars Dresses 2017 // Red Carpet Love

Is it just my social media feed, or are people especially grumpy about everything this year? I've seen so many gripe-y "celebrities should keep their mouths shut about politics," "celebrities are trash humans," etc. etc. posts.

My response to that? People should stick up for whatever they want, if they happen to be celebrities, then they shouldn't have to censor their opinions just because they are widely seen. Let people like things. Let people do things. Let people say what they feel they want to say. Jesus Cristo!

Moving right along, I haven't shared any Oscar's posts in the past few years... my last one was in 2014... but I wanted to do a quick post about some of the pretty dresses.... because I'm a girly girl who never fully grew up... and I love to look at the dresses. :) (let me like this!) - all that being said, I'm not really into labels or brands.

Here is one fella looking super dapper though... :

Mahershala Ali - Congratulations on your Oscar!

Emma Roberts - wearing vintage - how eco! :)

Emma Stone - Congratulations on your Oscar!

Karlie Kloss

Michelle Williams

Auli'i Cravalho

Nicole Kidman

Olivia Culpa

Olivia Hamilton

Rosemarie Dewitt
How stinkin' cute are these two?!

I feel like I really didn't LOVE most of the dresses this year, but that's ok! :)

I have only seen two of the movies that were nominated (or that actors were nominated for) ... LaLaLand and Moana. I did not love LaLaLand. It was visually interesting but I felt like the mood shifted dramatically through the middle-end of the movie... and I didn't overall enjoy it. I don't think I'll watch it again anytime soon. Moana was really sweet and inspiring. I thought it was visually lovely. Not my favorite Disney movie by any means, but it was beautiful. :) Piper, the Pixar short film is the cutest stinkin' thing in the entire world! So glad that it won. :) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them won costume design. Which is wonderful! Those costumes were fantastic! I would love to see Lion, Moonlight, Loving, Jackie, Hidden Figures, and Florence Foster Jenkins.

As my own political aside, I liked seeing people speak out about things they are passionate about. From ACLU ribbons to speeches. I was particularly happy to see that the red carpet and the nominees this year were not "white washed" as they often are. Diversity is so important and I loved seeing so much more representation this year!

What did you think of the Oscars? Did you watch?

What is your favorite dress?
