New Orleans Anniversary Trip // Day 3 - Part 2 // January 2015

We had the best time at the NOMA, Day 3 Part 1 of our anniversary trip. Did you miss the swoon-worthy art? Check it out here.

Once you exit the NOMA, you happen upon their gorgeous Sculpture Garden. We had such an amazing time at the Olympic Sculpture Park and also at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.... that we had to walk through this one as well. Even though our feet were dead, dead, dead... we had a great time! :)

Favorite Sculpture: Maybe the mother and child, or people on the bench.

The Sculpture Garden Was: Very different from others we have visited... but gorgeous. Very well set up. It was shady and beautiful.

Feet: Dead...

Snack: Beignets at Cafe Beignet. Again.

Evening: Spent lots of time resting, I think we actually went back to our hotel for a long nap!

Dinner: We got a patio table at Cafe Amelie. It was dark and moody, strings of lights, a fire pit, delicious food. We split a veggie pasta (photographed horribly!), we got some fun drinks, and then had dessert. We sat and talked about life and ate slowly for hours. It was so lovely.

Have you ever been to a Sculpture Garden?

Have you ever had a dinner like this?

Alexandra

New Orleans Anniversary Trip // Day 3 - Part 1 // January 2015

Hi everyone, I hope that June is treating you well so far!

Let's get back to NOLA.

On the third day of our anniversary trip (Day 1 & Day 2) we grabbed a quick breakfast at Starbucks before riding the street car for the first time. We took it out to the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), and had a blast looking at a new-to-us art museum. Ok, me a little more than KC.. .but he is a trooper and definitely had a good time as well.

Breakfast: A quick Starbucks run.

Lunch: Spinach Berry Salad and Basil Lemonade for me, BBQ Chicken Slider and Potato Soup for KC - all at Cafe NOMA.

Out and About: Riding the Street Car was really fun, we got to see a whole different part of the city that way! We walked through the entire museum and then some... see part 2 post coming soon!

Weather: warm and sunny

Lots Of: ... art ...

Tried: Basil Lemonade and Riding in a Street Car.

Surprise: How big the museum was! Also, that it had a collection of Japanese Snuff Bottles just like the Seattle Asian Art Museum did!

Love of the Day: The Odalisque portrait. The painting with the girl in the pink dress and purple head scarf. So beautiful. Also, the Oceanic section, I loved seeing art from Oceana, the turquoise walls were a great touch.

Wearing: Skinnies, Burgundy Tee, Thrifted Floral Scarf, Green Jacket, Red Cross Body Bag, and Flats.

Tried Very Hard To: Find souvenirs for our families and friends at the museum. Didn't have the best luck.

I highly recommend visiting this gorgeous museum, and their cafe!

See Day 1Day 2, and Day 3 Part 2. See our first trip to New Orleans here.

Linking up for Wanderlust Wednesday for the first time with Kat, Emily, and Kate.

Do you love visiting Art Museums when you travel?

What is your favorite museum you've visited (art or otherwise)?

XO,

Alexandra
