Have You Heard? // Kacey Musgraves - "Love is a Wild Thing"

Happy Friday Friends! I hope that you had a great week, and if you didn't... the weekend is nearly here! :) Do something nice for yourself!

It is no secret that I've been a big Kacey Musgraves fan since I first heard one of her songs last summer. Every time I listen to the album I have a new favorite song. Lately it is this one. It's so dreamy, happy, hopeful.. I can't wait to see her sing it live in September!

What are you guys up to this weekend??

Tonight I am going to the library booksale with my mom, sister, and nephew. Maybe we'll grab dinner with KC afterward. :) Saturday we have D&D with some close friends. We provoked an *actual* dragon... the outlook isn't great. Sunday we have a goodbye party for friends who are getting ready to move up to Iowa for grad school. I will miss her, but seeing as she most recently lived in Taiwan... Iowa is manageable. :) Hoping to read, plant my flowers in the ground, scrapbook, and who knows... maybe make more cookies? If you've been following along on IG, I bought myself a decorating kit and am having fun practicing and experimenting. :)

Have You Heard? // Kacey Musgraves - "Velvet Elvis"

Happy Friday Friends! It is finally February and I feel like I'm getting into the swing of the year! I have been doing a little bit of documenting and a LOT of reading. :) We've also been doing a lot more cooking and baking at home which is so fun. If you want to see those adventures Instagram Stories is the best place to do it! :)

I am SUPER excited, because Kacey Musgraves has announced that she is doing a second Oh What A World tour! I really wanted to go but none of the date/location combos were very convenient. She is announcing the new dates today (11 AM CST) and I cannot wait to see if we can make one of the shows work! Eep! *update* we got tickets for Kansas City in September!!! SO EXCITED!

I cannot for the life of me pick a favorite song from the Golden Hour album... but I guess that's ok. I'll just have to keep sharing the songs here. I just love that she pushes the line between country, pop, indie, and whatever else she feels like. It's so much fun to listen to.

What are y'all up to this weekend?!

I would really like to clean out our car and organize our kitchen cabinets. I also want to *hopefully* finish Night Film (IT IS SO GOOD AND I USUALLY DO NOT ENJOY MYSTERIES/THRILLERS!) and maybe get to another book as well. I'd also like to do some crafty Valentine's Day projects, because I'm all about that pink and red! Oh yes, the super bowl is on... but I'll be sitting there with my books and art supplies. ;)

Are you excited about the Super Bowl? I am a Saints fan* (because NOLA forever) and everyone here (obviously) likes the Chiefs... so I don't know anyone who is excited. LOLOL

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Alexandra

*I mean, I'm not really a sports person. But I do love NOLA, and I picked the Saints as my team a loooong time ago. LOL

Have You Heard? // Kacey Musgraves - "Mele Kalikimaka"

Happy Friday Friends! Last night we went to see The Nutcracker at The Kauffman, which was so fun! :) I'm SO GLAD THAT IT IS THE WEEKEND, AND MY HOLIDAY "BREAK".**

I have really loved getting to know Kacey Musgraves's music this year, her Christmas album is super fun. I like that a lot of the songs have a vintage-y feel to them. I think this is one of my favorite tracks though it is hard to choose! :)

I really think that more people should cover this one, it is fun. :)

What are you guys doing this weekend?!

We have our Christmas party/game night with friends tomorrow evening which should be fun. We are doing breakfast food. YUM. Then Sunday we're not sure. Probably finishing up gift wrapping, driving around to see holiday lights, and possibly Jingle All the Way at our local theater. I've never seen it! :) Then it's Christmas Eve spent together, and Christmas spent with family. :)

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to you all!

And a HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

XO,

Alexandra

**let's not talk about how I will only have FIVE vacation hours come January 1st. :( Buying a house + two longer vacations = nada vacation. OY. : /

Have You Heard? // "High Horse" - Kacey Musgraves

Something strange is happening to me, I am all about country things these days. Admittedly, country lite.. but I read a romance novel about a country band, I find myself wanting to watch Nashville, and I'm listening to all sorts of things I don't normally. Getting old... LOL!

Here's a pretty poppy country song by Kacey Musgraves. I'm pretttty sure that I am the high horse person in the lyrics...but that's ok. LOL I still like the song.

Super catchy and fun! :)

What are you guys up to this weekend?!

Tonight we are having a painting party at our new house! That means that we are getting pizzas, beer, and wine and then our lovely friends are going to help us paint! Which is wonderful for so so many reasons. One of which being I AM SO TIRED OF PAINTING! Lol. ;) Other than that, I am not sure what we are up to next weekend! My birthday is next week, so KC might have some sneaky plans. Otherwise I'll be reading, packing, painting, and maybe doing some documenting! :)

Have You Heard? // Kacey Musgraves - "Butterflies"

Happy Friday Friends! Hellooo from Havana! Since I've already shared the song Havana... I'm sharing a weird one for me today. I usually don't enjoy country music... at all... but I going soft in my old age. Also, this song is fairly pop-y. But I heard it at B&N and I'm loooving it. :)

I dunno, I just think it's dreamy and sweet... and it seems like the perfect happy, calm, summer song. I dunno google tells me that her music is often about drugs. LOL. Whatever. That's not my jam at all... but you know... what are you going to do?

So... now I'm off to explore more of her music and/or country music an see what's going on with me. ha :P

What are y'all up to this weekend?!

We're unplugged, adventuring, cruising, and laughing. :) Excited to show you guys all of the cool places we've seen once we're back! :)
