Happy Friday Friends! I hope you have a lovely weekend to look forward to! I am hoping that ours is nice and quiet. :)
Sometimes, two bands/singers that you love... just happen to collaborate. I was so excited when I heard that Jarryd James and Broods were releasing a song together! If you like melodic, lovey music, with beautiful duet-like sounds... check out this track.
I can't get enough of this song. It's so, so good. :)

Have You Heard? // - Coldplay - "Magic" // & Snapshots of the A Head Full of Dreams Tour
Hello Everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!
This week was a little bit different because KC, my friend Jessica, and I all took off Thursday afternoon to drive to Tulsa, OK (~3.5 hours) for the Colplay A Head Full of Dreams concert. KC and I saw them back in 2012 for Mylo Xyloto and had such a blast that we knew we needed to see them again. When they didn't tour for Ghost Stories... (I mean outside of Tokyo, Paris, etc.) I was really disappointed! I loved that album. Anyhow, when they announced this tour, we knew we needed to grab tickets, and also help Jessica cross this off her bucket list! :) I'm SO glad that we did!
So today I am sharing one of my favorite tracks from Ghost Stories, "Magic," and then I'll give a quick concert recap. Kind of like I did with T-Swift and J.Lo. :)
I think the lyrics to this song are really sweet and hopeful, and I think that the video and all of the album art are so clever and lovely. Did you guys hear this one? Also, I mean, this song is just so romantic. Sigh, I'm a sucker for that.
Anyhow, I definitely recommend listening to more of their stuff if you haven't kept up with them over the past like 20 years. HA - there have been so many iterations of their music during that time.
On to the concert!
It was at the BOK Center (a large arena) in Tulsa, where KC and I had seen The Black Keys & The Arctic Monkeys back in 2012. We don't love arena shows the most, but sometimes for
bigger names you do what you can! :)
As expected, they played a lot of songs from their new album, A Head Full of Dreams. But they also played some songs from Ghost Stories (THIS ONE! MAGIC!), as well as some popular singles. I don't think they can get away with doing a show without playing "Yellow" or "The Scientist". :)
They also dedicated "Everglow" to all the parts of the world that are hurting right now. So of course I sobbed. Not that I didn't already shed tears during other songs. I had SO MANY FEELINGS.
As with last time the visual aspects of the show were really incredible. We had blinking wrist bands, the screens, lights, and other props were really awesome... they even had some pyrotechnics this time! And the confetti! So much confetti! :)
So (yet) another concert lesson for you guys: sometimes it's worth the drive and a little bit of planning to see an incredible show. :)
So there you have it!
Did anyone else catch the A Head Full of Dreams tour?
What is your favorite Coldplay song or album?

Have You Heard? // Coldplay feat. Beyonce - "Hymn for the Weekend"
Coldplay came out with a new album late last year, they finally released their tour dates in February..? not sure... and we got tickets with my friend Jessica to see them. We have to drive 3 hours, but that's really not so bad. We are both (and KC not far behind) from the beginning Coldplay fans, and so we are SO excited to go. We are checking it off her bucket list!
We saw them back in 2012 for the Mylo Xyloto show, and had such a blast! I can't wait to see what they do this tour!!
When the album came out, I liked the first single pretty straight away, but I was a little less keen on this one. A little bit later I really really like it. Go Beyonce! :)
What a fun song, I cannot wait to hear it live!
Do you guys have any bands you've loved forever and then seen in person?
Any fun plans this weekend?

Have You Heard // BØRNS - "American Money"
So... BØRNS has been coming out with some really catchy songs. I've posted about 10,000 Emerald Pools and many of you have heard Electric Love. I'll be honest he kinda creeps me out - which I am pretty sure is just because sof that album cover, but... I still really love the music.
Anyhow, this song just started up on the radio. And holy cow, it's SO good. I can't seem to find an official music video for the standard version of the song, so here's an audio version.
Oddly enough, he's American yet he comments on the greenness of American money. That's interesting to me.... Is he from Tennessee? - I don't know....
All the same, the songs still sound like a woman is singing to me, So there you have it. Maybe I'll get used to him the more I listen to his music.
What have you been listening to?

Have You Heard? // Lewis Del Mar - "Loud"
I keep forgetting about this song, and as soon as it starts playing... I'm like, "Yes! This one!"
So, so good. Ugh, just so good.
I'm excited to hear more of his music!- he's a bit unknown for me!
What have you been listening to?

Have You Heard? // Broods - "Free"
Broods is one of my current favorite bands. The catchy and dreamy alt-pop with brother-sister vocals is so on point. I love to listen to their stuff. They are playing at Chipotle's Cultivate Festival this weekend in KC and it's free... and it's going to be hotter than blazes so I think we aren't going to go! :/
We were lucky to see them in concert last March, and they were SO good. Now they've come out with their second album, Conscious.
Here's the first single, "Free". Very cool. I've still only heard it a few times, but goodness can Georgia sing!?!?!
I just downloaded the album as well and have listened to it a few times, it was GREAT road trip music when we drove to and from Nashville - so upbeat! I love what I'm hearing. There is even a song featuring Lorde, and another featuring Tov Lo.
What do you think of it?

Have You Heard? // Bastille - "Good Grief"
Rejoice! Bastille has come out with a new single. It's called "good grief" and I love it. It's so very very catchy. I think I've heard it 4 times now... and it's stuck in my head so often!
Both Broods and Glass Animals have come out with new stuff too! What a great slew of new music coming in!
*just a head's up (LOL - that single cover!) if you are WATCHING the video.. there's a tad bit of nudity... so NSFW - or just listen to it.*
What do you think of the song?!

Another world-wind week in the works, we are just settling back in from Georgia.... and we head to Nashville for the long weekend and my BIRTHDAY! Hooray! #cantstopwontstop
In other news... this song is so rad. I can't get over it. I need to hear more of their music ... now.
I love the sound of this band. Incredible.

Have You Heard? // The Strumbellas - "Spirits"
Happy Friday Friends!
It's been a busy few weeks for us. We spent a lovely time in Georgia, I can't wait to share a quick recap post with you guys next week! :)
Special shout out to Kira from The Retro Dorothy, she gave a sweet review of some of my stationery, check it out here!
This song has popped up on our radar in KCMO recently. I'm a bit surprised I like it, because I'm generally not a fan of group singing... It's just so catchy, and I've found that I love it!
This video is kind of crazy and awesome all at once.
Have you heard this before? What are you listening to lately?!
Any fun plans this weekend?

Have You Heard? // Milky Chance - "Stolen Dance"
Hello from gorgeously humid Georgia!
We're having a lovely time exploring the beautiful old cities, beaches, and islands! I can't wait to recap it for you when I get home. But in the meantime, catch me on Instagram! :)
This song was one that I listened to non-stop last summer. It's kind of mellow, but it's just so happy. I also like to imagine taking a stolen dance with someone you love.
Perhaps we'll head out to dance under the stars tonight?
What are you guys up to this weekend? I hope that you take the time to do something fabulous.

Have You Heard? // Cage the Elephant - "Mess Around"
Happy Friday friends!
While Cage the Elephant (or Cage as they are often shortened to) is not one of my favorite bands, I really appreciate how many different sounds they can pull off. Their music is so diverse.
While some of their styles are not my favorite, I really love this song.
What do you think?
Any fun plans this weekend?!

Have You Heard? // BØRNS - "10,000 Emerald Pools"
Happy Friday Friends!
I hope that you had a great week, or at least have a great weekend planned ahead.
Things here are busy busy, KC and I are planning FOUR trips between now and August 30th... #areweinsane ? (possibly!) And we've been buying concert tickets..... ha goodness.
Anyhow, here's a song for today. While this one isn't "new"... I really like it, so I thought I would pass it along.
Through the entire first single for this band (Electric Love - in a lot of commercials), I thought that BØRNS was a woman. Or a band that at least included a woman singing. Nope. It's just this guy. I think that is crazypants. KC laughed so hard at me by how thrown off I was by this. He never thought it was a woman. So there you have it, weigh in folks! :P
Verdict?

Have You Heard? // Foals - "Mountain At My Gates"
Happy Earth Day 2016!!!
I had heard a few Foals songs in the past, and they were cool, kind of vintage-y vibes to them, like this song. The song I'm sharing today is nothing like that.... but I love it!
I love the motivating lyrics, but also that it's still got that great alternative sound to it. It doesn't sound corny.
Lord, this is catchy.

Happy Friday from San Francisco. We are having a great time, and I hope that you all have had a lovely week! It's the weekend, so here's a song to celebrate!
This song popped up in our area quite a while ago, and I have to say... it's really gown on me. The beats are great, there is a saxophone, and it's pretty sultry.
Excited to hear more of her music!

Simply Autumn Vol. I // A Cozy Playlist
I hope that fall is still treating you all well.
I have posted before about how fall is fun, but just not my favorite season overall. Well, this year it really really has me under it's spell. The weather has been nice, the trees have been pretty, we've done some fall baking and cooking... we're planning gatherings with good friends... it's all good.
Here is a playlist that I made for work, but has proved to be the perfect soundtrack to a relaxed weekend at home as well. It's mellow, and moody, lots of pretty vocals and dreamy lyrics. It includes a few songs from James Bay, a few from Vance Joy, Bastille, The Vines... just take a listen. I hope it lifts your spirits as you stare outside at the pretty trees. :)
Can't you just imagine yourself decked out in a cozy layered outfit, sipping on your fall drink of choice, crunching leaves under your feet?
*I added "Georgia" in at the last minute... I think it works*
If you would like to follow me on Spotify you can, or just press play right in this post. :)
More in the mood for something fun, vintage-y, and upbeat? Check out *spook, my Halloween playlist!
What music are you listening to right now?
Any that makes you think of fall?
