Broods is one of my current favorite bands. The catchy and dreamy alt-pop with brother-sister vocals is so on point. I love to listen to their stuff. They are playing at Chipotle's Cultivate Festival this weekend in KC and it's free... and it's going to be hotter than blazes so I think we aren't going to go! :/
Here's the first single, "Free". Very cool. I've still only heard it a few times, but goodness can Georgia sing!?!?!
I just downloaded the album as well and have listened to it a few times, it was GREAT road trip music when we drove to and from Nashville - so upbeat! I love what I'm hearing. There is even a song featuring Lorde, and another featuring Tov Lo.

This song has popped up on our radar in KCMO recently. I'm a bit surprised I like it, because I'm generally not a fan of group singing... It's just so catchy, and I've found that I love it!

This song was one that I listened to non-stop last summer. It's kind of mellow, but it's just so happy. I also like to imagine taking a stolen dance with someone you love.

At work I have been taking on some new administrative roles, and we have had two big meetings in the past two weeks. I have spent a lot of time and energy working on those, way out of my wheel house, and I am so glad to say... they are over! & everything went smoothly. :) HUZZAH!
So of course.... I've been thinking of this Dolly classic.
I probably don't share it a lot, but I think Dolly Parton is a national treasure. She's sassy, she's honest and real, and she knows that she shouldn't be one to judge. I know a lot of people think she's fake because she's got fake hair and fake whatever else they want to claim. But she's quick to speak her mind, and boy does she say some incredibly honest things. She knows who she is, and it doesn't matter if her hair is fake... SHE is real and she is true to herself. :)
KC and I saw that she was coming to KCMO in July... and we got tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Also, has anyone else seen this movie?! It's incredible. I didn't even know it was a movie, but gosh it's fantastic.
Absolutely ahead of it's time in terms of women in the workforce. It's also just hilarious and delightful. So if you get a chance, queue it up for a movie night! You will laugh and laugh and laugh.
While Cage the Elephant (or Cage as they are often shortened to) is not one of my favorite bands, I really appreciate how many different sounds they can pull off. Their music is so diverse.
While some of their styles are not my favorite, I really love this song.
I had heard a few Foals songs in the past, and they were cool, kind of vintage-y vibes to them, like this song. The song I'm sharing today is nothing like that.... but I love it!
I love the motivating lyrics, but also that it's still got that great alternative sound to it. It doesn't sound corny.

This song popped up in our area quite a while ago, and I have to say... it's really gown on me. The beats are great, there is a saxophone, and it's pretty sultry.
Neither the band name, nor song title make me want to like this song... but oh boy... the banjo in this one though.... It's so good, I can't help it, I love it.
