Swatchboard: All Things English

Gemma Arterton
Bond Girl, Persian Princess and Tess of the D'Urbervilles. She's lovely and extremely talented and my English inspiration for the day. (By the way Prince of Persia was really quite good, unlike Quantum of Solace. Tess I have yet to see, or read).

The English Countryside
Scenic views and cottages, flowers, green grass and gray skies. A lot like the look of Kansas this past week or so. I was finally starting to enjoy it and out came the sun.

My Friend Alina's Cooking Blog
She's brilliant, always making her food her own, even if its just a salad from the salad bar at Ghost Ranch's dining hall. Her recipes are truly inspiring, the girl can make scones for goodness sakes. I may not know her well, but I know she's legit. Check out Alina's Blog here.

Orange Spiced Tea

What could be better than a cup of tea to end a very British day?

Summer Reading List 2010

"An ordinary man can surround himself with two thousand books and thenceforward have at least one place in the world in which it is possible to be happy. "
Augustine Birrell
This Side of Paradise - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Riders of the Purple Sage - Zane Grey
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass - Lewis Carroll
How to Sew a Button: and Other Nifty Things Your Grandmother Knew - Erin Bried
The Importance of Being Earnest - Oscar Wilde
Rebecca - Daphne Du Maurier
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix - J.K. Rowling
Just finished Riders of the Purple Sage, it was epic and now I'm moving on to Rebecca. A sweet Dusty Bookshelf find: 1939 copyright, hardback for a mere $2. Excited to start reading. I'll probably change the list as I go. My goal is to finish 10 books before classes start up again. I did run across some Sense and Sensibility comic books though, so I might have to add those! Who knew such a thing existed? More about that later.
