The last few weeks have been kind of a whirlwind for me. I had some serious anxiety at the end of the year. Spending time with Kyle and being away from home was just exactly what was needed. So it was good timing. We had a great long weekend in the city. It was mostly warm and breezy, we got to relax but also explore a lot of the things we didn't see last time. :)
Since we've been back I have been trying to do some major cleaning/organization around our apartment. It's slow going but effective I think. We're also getting ready to adopt a new kitten this weekend! - more on him later!
Today I am linking up with The Creative Closet girls, this week's linkup is called 'Pretty in Pink'. I bought this infinity scarf back when I purchased a bunch of cold weather accessories. I love the sweet pink color, that it is lightweight, and adds texture to my outfits.
One of my favorite things about the city is that it is so vibrant and alive. The sound of music is everywhere, laughter pours out of restaurants, tropic like breezes flow through the streets, every wall, door, arch, gate, or shutter is a new color. New Orleans is a living and breathing place.
I'm certainly not complaining about the brilliant backgrounds it gave for these photos! :)

XOXO,

I love that pretty baby pink with your striped top! It's the perfect combination! And dang, those backdrops are fantastic too! New Orleans does have some pretty cool buildings and scenery. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously great backdrops! :) Love the pink of course, pops against the scarf! :) Those flats are great, too!
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos! I'm glad you had fun in New Orleans!! The stripes + the pretty pink scarf are such a pretty combo. Love this.
ReplyDeleteYay for another great trip to Nola! Makes me want to go soon just to walk around and enjoy it. I haven't had a chance to do that in a while!
ReplyDeleteI love your pink scarf! And I have a similar shirt that I never thought about wearing it with a scarf. I may have to try this look out soon :)
Also, a kitten!! How exciting! I pray it doesn't scratch up everything hahah.
You're so lovely! I am not a fan of pink for myself, but love the light pink, almost peachy color. I mostly wear dresses myself when traveling - easy to pack a bunch of dresses in a tiny suitcase and I don't have to worry about outfits! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been to NOLA. I don't know, I think I've just got such a preconceived idea about it, I've never given it a fair chance lol. I'm happy you had a great trip! Sometimes a break away with someone you love is the best cure for anxiety :)

Love that top on you, so flattering and I love the scarf! Such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteI love that outfit! So glad you had a great time in New Orleans :D I've never been but would love to go one day.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute outfit, i really like that top :) i like to be cute and comfy when i travel, but comfy is more important especially if you are doing tons of walking!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love these pictures, they are soft, yet they pop (does that makes sense?) LOVE that striped top, and just about everything here;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire! It's so easy and ultimately flattering. XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Jana! :) Simple and light packing was what I was going for. :) It's got to be my favorite US city so far! :) XO
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I had to laugh looking back later the pink walls are nearly the same color as my scarf! Crazy. I live in these flats! I hope they are recover-able... they got kinda wet and muddy later on in the trip... They really need washed off... not sure if that's even possible! : / XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea! We had such a nice time. :) Thank you. XO
ReplyDeleteThanks! We did! hope you enjoyed your CRUISE! XO
ReplyDeleteYou should. :) We were able to relax a lot more knowing what was there and what we wanted to do again, see for the first time etc.. ! Thank you, I didn't wear it at all right after I bought it... but in the last few weeks I find it goes with a lot! I'd love to see it if you try out the pairing. Yes! We are hoping it gives our cat an outlet for some of her playful (overly energetic... : / ) energy. I think she will benefit from having a brother. Fingers crossed!!! XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Brittany, you're so sweet! :) Light peachy-pinks are some of my favorites too. Blush colors I guess. :) Dresses are a good option! I should start packing more. I tend to forget about them, and I haven't bought them in a looong time. XO
ReplyDeleteI totally get that! I think I used to think that too. Then I saw some movies and shows set there and all of a sudden I needed to go. So glad I did.. it's such an incredible place. I highly recommend! XO
ReplyDeleteThank you Tawnya, I love it too. Stripes are so easy and the shape is unexpected. It actually has a gold zipper in the back too. It's fun. XO
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to Kenzie. It's such a fun city! XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristen! I totally agree. Comfort first. All the way. Everyday really. Heels and I aren't really friends. :) XO
ReplyDeleteHaha yes Meagan, I gotcha. Thank you! I loved having such vibrant backdrops on our trip! It was a pretty easy outfit but I love it...! XO

ReplyDeleteThank you! It is such a wonderful city. There is so much to see and do. Even just to walk around and look at everything. You don't have to plan things... I am happy that I love it even more the second time. :) I find that people are often disappointed after returning to a place they really loved. So fortunate that wasn't how it went for us. XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteHi Camille, thanks for stopping by and reaching out! You're so sweet. Hopping over to say hi now. :) XO -Alexandra

Oh my gosh beignets, lol. Ever since my niece saw Princess and the Frog years ago she's been obsessed with beignets. Everywhere we go she always ask if they have them for dessert, and when she does finally get them she's head over heels lol.
ReplyDeleteYour scarf matches that wall perfectly! I love it :) PS. New Orleans is on my bucket list and you are making it move up in priority quickly!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to visit Nola! Sometimes a relaxing weekend is all you need :)

It's such a beautiful lively place, really recommend. Sounds like a great trip! We went to Seattle in October and it was really neat, slightly harder to accomplish than we are used to... but it was good. I highly recommend the olympic sculpture park. And Rocco's pizza / bar scene. :) San Fran is our next trip I hope! :) XO -Alexandra
ReplyDeleteThanks Kaley, thank you for stopping by :) XO
