TODAY VANCE JOY'S NEW ALBUM IS OUT! WOOHOO! Also, we got tickets yesterday to see him again in April! YAY!
So far, I am loving all of his new songs, and I can't wait to get my hands on the album this weekend! :)
Squee! Are you guys going to any fun shows this year? Right now we just have tickets to Vance Joy and Taylor Swift. :)
This week has been nuts! Monday was normal, Tuesday we had a thunder ice storm (BIZARRE!), Wednesday I was sick, Thursday we had a snow day... and no snow or ice came. hehe So today is my second day of work. Oh well, I will take it! :)
What are you guys up to this weekend?
We don't have any plans right now, but I would like to get in some reading and to start working no my NYC travel album pages. :) We've also talked about running in to the mall for a pretzel (obvs.) but I also have a B&N gift card!

Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Saturday Sun"
Happy February Friends! I am well enough but still shaking off fatigue. Work has been absolutely insane, I'm hoping that things calm down soon! Send me good vibes if you have any!
I'm still working on my goals, and my intentions for the year. I guess with my health this year it makes sense for my "new year" to start February 1, rather than January 1. :) Stay tuned for those things! And tell me your goals, I want some inspiration!
Vance Joy comes out with his new album this month! :) Hooray! Yesterday he released another new song, called "Saturday Sun". It is SO catchy, I can't wait for February 23rd!
Alright, well this has definitely brightened my day! :) "No ray of sunlight's ever lost" - I love that!
What are you guys up to this weekend?
We are headed to my sister Olivia's basketball game, assuming she gets over her cold. :) Then I have plans to thoroughly enjoy the Kitten Bowl, and multi-task through the Super Bowl. :P I am hoping to do some reading, organizing (we still have our tree up... x_x), and scrapbooking. I've been playing with traveler's notebooks and water color... etc. and I just want to spend some time making a mess!

Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Like Gold"
Squeeeee! Vance Joy put up his new song, "Like Gold". When he played this at his show last month, I loved it so much! I am so glad that it is out now, and that his next album is coming in February!!
Apologies to anyone who is REALLY REALLY tired of me posting Vance Joy songs once a month (at least..)... but I am super jazzed.
What do you guys think?!
What are you guys up to this weekend?!
We are finishing out the LOTR series tonight with KC's parents, making waffles for #lybholidayl Saturday morning, and seeing my mom and sister for lunch on Sunday. Sunday's #lybholidayl prompt is to "shop my closet" so I'm going to give that a serious effort, and get out some of our fall/winter things..., and hopefully finish up my October Daily album, so I can start my November gratitude one! :) Also, it's been cold here... so KC and I have both been really craving holiday shopping at the mall. I'm not even sure what we'd buy... but it just feels like Christmas shopping weather! Also, soft pretzels for life. In our city there is nowhere to get a soft pretzel like that. A few places have the super gourmet ones as appetizers, and we have super fake ones that are just bread in the shape of a pretzel.. no legit pretzels though. LOL.

Don't forget to join us when you can for #lybholidayl! We're having such a blast with it, and I love seeing who is tagging along! I am feeling more centered already! Shea shared this great link to a podcast where they are de-mistifying the holidays and all the stress. LOVING working on the worksheet to figure out our "game plan". Thanks for sharing that, Shea!
Does anyone else listen to this podcast?
Do you have a lot of opinions about soft pretzels...? LOL

Snapshots of Vance Joy + Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Mess Is Mine"
Happy Friday, Friends! I hope that you are each having a great week! I've managed to come down with a cold, but otherwise it's been a good one. Hoping it goes away soon! :)
Last weekend was nuts, we had two concerts, a crafting day with my sister Jess, and then a family day at the Ren Fest. Whew. One concert was obviously Hanson, the other was Vance Joy! You guys know how I love Vance Joy!
It was our 4th time seeing him live, and it was such a great show. He played his new single, and also three new unreleased songs! I can't wait to hear when the new album comes out!
This was his second single from his first album, and I just love it. It's still one of my top favorites from him. The lyrics get me every time.
This video is just a sad polar bear though. :(
What are you guys up to this weekend?
We have no plans other than a call with my friend Juliet. :) I hope we find time to get some pumpkins and maybe carve them. I want to work more on October Daily videos and more pages too. I finally figured out that I can do all of the editing steps ON MY FREAKING PHONE... so... that's good. HA. They should start posting to YouTube next Monday! So stay tuned. I also need to do some reading.. but I haven't been feeling like it. We shall see. Maybe we'll watch The Two Towers. Nerdy & Crafty. Sounds about right.

Happy Friday, Friends! Today I'm saying hello from NYC! Keep up with me and KC on Instagram! :)
Guess what?! We got more Vance Joy tickets! :P I guess we're just lucky that he keeps coming back to Kansas City. So excited to see him the day after we see Hanson. :)
Here's one of my constant favorites from him!
What do you guys have planned this weekend?
We'll be exploring NYC and meeting up with a few of you along the way! :)

Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Lay It On Me"
Happy Friday Friends! I am still playing catch up on reading blogs since our road trip, but I can't wait to see what you've been up to. :)
This week was a funny one for us, a two day work week for me... lots of external stress related to my parent's divorce and not being able to catch a break from social obligations and constant contact, etc. But I think things are looking up. Wednesday and Thursday gave me a small change to calm down and work on my own projects. :) What I really need after this week is several weeks with exactly zero plans in them. I hope I can manage to get it. Cross your fingers for me! :)
One piece of good news is that my sister in law gets married tomorrow! Hooray! :)
A second piece of good news is that Vance Joy has released a new single. Yayyy!
I have only listened to it a few times, but I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Vance Joy is just a favorite of mine. (as you, I'm sure know!)
What do you guys have planned this weekend?
For us it will be wedding and wedding-related plans. But next week is nearly completely free and I'm so excited about it!! :)

Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Great Summer"
Happy Friday Friends! This week was a bit of a shit show here... divorce drama is real y'all.
But, it's the weekend, so I am going to keep trying to be positive. In pleasant news, I read To All The Boys I've Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You this week and they were adorable. I'm #4 in line for the new one! :) They were both adorable and gave me something happy to focus on!
This song came out a few years ago now I guess, but it was a single from the Paper Towns soundtrack so I almost missed it. I really like that it's upbeat and talks about summer. While it's not officially summer, it feels good to think about and channel summer anyhow! :)
I haven't read Paper Towns... is it good? I really don't care for Cara Delevingne, so I haven't made an effort to read/watch it.
What are you guys up to this weekend?!?!
This weekend is packed, packed, packed *anxiety*... I have three graduations at the same time on the same day in two different cities (4+ hours apart). So we have driving, graduation, and lots of parties. I'm not even sure that we'll be able to celebrate Mother's Day at all. I'm hoping there is some downtime and a makeup date for Mother's Day.

Have You Heard? // Vance Joy - "Fire and the Flood"
Happy Friday Friends! I have today off as I pack and prep for our long weekend in NOLA. I cannot wait to set foot in Crescent City again. :)
I swear that I listen to new music... but my favorites are my favorites... so you'll see me continue to post about Vance Joy, Ellie Goulding, Broods, and James Bay... probably until the end of time. :)
This song came out in an extended version of his first album with another track called "Straight Into Your Arms". I love them both. :)
How great is this lyric though?! "everything is fine, when your head's resting next to mine, next to mine." - I. Die.
In case there was any doubt of my love for Vance Joy... here's that time we went to "prom" and saw him play. Also, just saw this in his merch store... and I LOVE it.
How are you guys doing? I hope that you had a great week!
What are you guys up to this weekend?!
We'll be spending it in NOLA. We have very few plans, so I'm going to enjoy soaking up the city, catching up with our friends, and relaxing for a few days! Oh yes... and plane reading!!

P.S. in completely random news... I caught 3-4 episodes of Fixer Upper this week... I'm ruined now... and I totally understand the appeal. #help !

Have you Heard? // Vance Joy - "Dream Your Life Away"
If you saw my Prom post, then you know I'm crazy about Vance Joy. You've probably heard "Riptide" on the radio or a commercial... well, the rest of his album is AMAZING too.
I love the mellow sound, romantic lyrics, and the way his songs pick up speed about 3/4 the way through.
I put his song "First Time" on my Simply Summer Vol. II mix. Well here is another one for you, this is one of my favorites "Georgia".
Ok, so here's another one.... this one reminds me of fall.
And lastly, maybe my all time favorite.... Emmylou.
He's currently touring with Taylor Swift, so if you happen to have 1989 tickets, you get the bonus of seeing him as well. :) UPDATE: We got last minute 1989 tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAH! So we got to see him again, and Taylor Swift! eeeeee. #poptart
I'm loving his two new bonus tracks and the song from the "Paper Towns" soundtrack.
If you happen to love his music too, consider getting tickets, his tour is going on sale now or soon depending on where you live. He has already had to add double shows in at least 5 cities due to demand! :) He is wonderful live!
KC folks, presale starts 10/1 through his site, he's playing at The Midland in February!
What have you guys been listening to?

Vance Joy @ Afentra's Prom // May 2015
Well, with life slowing down on the career / crazy entrepreneur endeavors front... the first weekend off would be packed full of social plans. It was great, and a little tiring... but so worth it.
On Friday KC and I met a bunch of our friends in Kansas City for Afentra's Prom.
Prom is a concert thrown by our alternative station every year, because one of the main DJs was not able to attend her high school prom. So every year, she throws her own prom. It's a free show, but you have to make it in the door before it's full, and you have to dress up.
This year Vance Joy was headlining.. and I have been swooning over his dreamy lyrics since July! (am I alone you guys?) And was a bit distressed after I found out he would be world touring with T-Swift for the rest of forever. I love T-Swift as much as the next person, but it will make his shows more difficult to see live for this album. Leave it to the Buzz, to book him right before he is unattainable for years! ;) As soon as it was announced, I knew we had to go!
Turns out several of our friends were also getting really into his music, and/or had recently bought great dresses ... and had no where to wear them.. :)
It was an extremely busy week still, so I grabbed my red dress I wore as Cruella DeVil (thrifted, $6) and my new Target necklace ($20) and dashed out of the house. We got dressed up, drove out to KC, managed to eat in line without spilling on ourselves, and made it inside despite the amazingly long line!
We found a decent spot in the middle and stood through the opening bands (Hembrey, Joywave, The Kooks). I don't have too much to say about them, other than they had good energy. I don't particularly like Joywave, I'm not familiar enough with Hembrey (but they did a great cover!), and The Kooks are a little hit or miss for me. They didn't earn points with me for going way past their time slot.... Then we had to sit. 5 hours of standing on concrete is rough on the feet! (no I didn't wear heels this time!)
We found some seats in the balcony, and waited for Vance Joy to go on. He was great. His songs sounded just the same as they do on the album, and he picked a few of them up in speed as well, which I think engaged the audience a little more, I wouldn't be surprised if many were unfamiliar with some of his album. He also played Emmylou, which is on his EP... which was just recently released on US iTunes. I love it, so that was a great surprise. Thank you 96.5 the Buzz for bringing him to KC.
I got a T-shirt that says Georgia on it, and threw it on over my dress. We walked back to the car, and I was so tired on the way home. It was a long night, but very worth it.
It had all the artists talking about their real proms. Most of them weren't great, and most of my friends didn't have the best proms either.... I went to four, and most of them were pretty fun! :)
So... here's what I'm wondering... how was your prom?
