Happy Friday Friends! It has been the busiest week, but I managed to read a little bit!!!! WHICH IS SHOCKING AND AMAZING! :) On to the Christmas music...

When I was a kid I didn't have any Christmas albums, because who wants to use their Christmas money on a Christmas CD? The season is already over. But I finally got one, and it was the ONLY one I actually had! It was Hilary Duff, and it is perfect if you are looking for poptart throwback perfection.

There's a particularly great song with Lil' Romeo that was on The Disney Channel. Hilarious. "Thanks for the video games and the bling bling" is an actual lyric. hehehe It's worth checking out the partial music video too.. so I'm going to paste that below.



Anyone remember this? :P

What are you guys up to this weekend?!

We are watching my sister do her dance routine during the basketball halftime show and driving around to look at holiday lights for #lybholidayl tonight. Tomorrow we hit the Festival of Nativities with KC's parents, and then shop with my sisters and mom. Hoping to finish up gifts then! Sunday we see the Nutcracker. Hoping for downtime inbetween. hahaha

Have You Heard? // Hilary Duff - "Belong"

Happy Friday, friends! I've been such a blogging spaz lately. I've just been dealing with a lot of things on my plate, and blogging has taken a back seat. I'm hoping to get some posts scheduled ahead for the coming weeks, to try to negate some of that. Because I love to blog, and I love keeping up with you all! Thanks for your patience and love!

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I've been listening to this album a lot lately. I just find it so upbeat and fun! This song, is one of Hilary Duff's bonus tracks on her Sparks album from a few years ago. I can't find it on the internet anywhere except for here in this fan video... but I just love the song so much. They lyrics make me want to go out and do something amazing!

"When was the last time you did something for the first time? When was the first time you did something for the last time? Let's find a million things that we could do the first time. You never know, oh oh, it could be the last time."



I feel like every week I'm like... "but the lyrics!" LOL, does anybody else really focus on lyrics when they listen to music?

We have a game night planned with friends on Saturday, but the rest of the weekend is currently open! :) Hoping to do lots of reading, work on some of my August goals, and maybe do some more PL pages.

Have You Heard? // 90's & 00's Poptart Xmas Albums // Throwback

Happy Friday Friends!

A few years ago, I shared my favorite Christmas albums here on the blog. I'm starting to think about listening to Christmas music around the house since it's December now... so I thought I would share a few of my favorites throughout the next few weeks. See last week's post: Celtic Woman Christmas Albums. :) 

If you've been reading this blog for a while you'll know that I post a lot of alternative music on here... but that doesn't mean that it's all I listen to! I LOVE so many genres. This week I wanted to do a throwback Christmas music post! These are some of my favorites from my childhood! :)

N'Sync. Oh, N'Sync. We miss you. Full of classics and original tunes to groove to. Actually, this album gets boring for me.... but some of the songs are great! In the sense of cheesy 90's music! :) Under my tree is sneakily so dirty... guessing none of us caught that back in the '90's. Well, no one my age during the '90's. :P





Xtina. Oh boy, I don't know about you guys...but I always kind of liked Xtina better. Of course when I was 14 and she was wearing assless chaps... that wasn't my idea of the classiest.. but she makes her own choices, and she can seriously sing. :) So you know, still team Xtina. This album has so many vocal fourishes... but it's still great.





Hilary Duff's Santa Claus Lane - this album is SO cheesy, but it's the ONLY Christmas album that I actually owned as a kid. I didn't get allowance, etc. and who wants to ask for a Christmas album FOR Christmas? (not this kid) Anyhow, I still rock out to this H-duff album from time to time. And you really can't beat the Lil' Romeo collab. I mean... "thanks for the video games and the bling bling"?! A '00's classic. LOL





Ah, Aly and AJ. Another '00's classic (for me). Aly was super cute as Keely on Phil of the Future, and so of course, she and her sister became Disney darlings... and luckily we got a Christmas album out of that! Most of this is pretty calm and relatively acoustic performances of these classic songs. You'll also get two original (more rock-like) songs, and an amped up performance of Little Drummer Boy. < that cannot be missed. Also, they just look like angels on this cover. 





So there you  have a few of my favorite Christmas songs, I'll share more in the next few weeks.

Have You Heard? // Hilary Duff - "Breathe In Breathe Out"

I thought I would give you a few catchy songs to start off your weekend! (or week if you are seeing this on Monday! :) )

I've always been a Hilary Duff fan.

Growing up she was one of my favorite TV stars. Lizzie McGuire was so relate-able, she was normal and fun, (not something I saw often elsewhere on TV) and she grew up well in the spotlight. I watched her movies and bought her albums. I wanted her prom dress in "The Perfect Man," I bought the pink high top converse when "A Cinderella Story" came out... you get the idea.

Then she grew up, she started a family, and her life in the spotlight calmed down a little bit. She took an 8 year break to live her life and define her goals.

Now she's back on TV, in her new show, Younger, which is hilarious...! She's a mom, and an actress, she sings, she's got a healthy body image, and she seems to be enjoying where she's at right now. She took time to figure out her dreams, and she's chasing after them. I'm finding that she's still relate-able, and still a good role model.

.... and she happens to have a "new" album out (it came out in June you guys... slacking over here!)

You guys, this is the catchiest album... ever.

It's so much fun, I think it would be great for working out, or commuting ... getting you though a boring work day.... I'm so glad I bought the deluxe version... because the deluxe tracks ended up being my favorite. With the best lyrics. :) Seriously, I'm thinking printables here.... (you can find it at Target).

Here is the first single, Sparks. It's so catchy. The music video is fun, and a leeetle crazy... but I kinda like her hair teal! I promise you this will get stuck in your head.



I really like this one too, and don't say I told you so ... but this might be KC's favorite... ;)



Alright, last one... put this on your workout playlist for sure...



She also worked with some other artists on this album, there's even a song that Ed Sheeran wrote.

While there are a few songs that are not my favorite, overall I think it's a solid pop album. It's very "feel good," and I'm into that.

I'm going to stop gushing about this now, you guys get the idea! :)

So, just put this one on your Christmas wishlist... it's fun, it will make you happy, you deserve to be happy. :) #treatyoself
